The dagger project is finished. A copy of an original pictured in Madison Grant’s book The Knife in Homespun America. Hand forged 1075, mid 1800’s wrought iron found at the site of a long gone blacksmith shop and homestead for the guard, hickory handle and a crude copper ferrule. Working with only one reference picture is tricky but I think I got it pretty close. For the handle being so simple it really kicked my butt, just about every part of it was a fight to get it to look good.
