Lately I’ve been experimenting with a new blade forging technique. This new method consists of a core of wrought iron, in this case wrought iron from a mid 1800’s era blacksmith shop, and 2 pieces of steel butt welded on the edges. Perhaps this technique would be more traditional to colonial America than the San Mai method I have been using, especially if I forgo the top section of steel? Anyway, we’ll see how they look and preform.
