New addition to the Riverborn forge. 2.5 pound straight pein hammer from William Barnhart at WB Blacksmithing. He also happens to me the maker of our anvil.

Next PostNext The dagger project is finished. A copy of an original pictured in Madison Grant’s book The Knife in Homespun America. Hand forged 1075, mid 1800’s wrought iron found at the site of a long gone blacksmith shop and homestead for the guard, hickory handle and a crude copper ferrule. Working with only one reference picture is tricky but I think I got it pretty close. For the handle being so simple it really kicked my butt, just about every part of it was a fight to get it to look good.
